Ingredients & benefits

Babbasu

The Babassu palm tree grows wild in tropical areas of Brazil. For those with dry, flaky skin and  eczema, babassu is recommended due to its anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties. Lauric acid is a medium-chain fatty acid with antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, making it useful for keeping wounds clean and encouraging healing. It's incredibly moisturizing, but unlike coconut oil, it is much lighter and doesn’t leave your skin feeling slick.  Non-comedogenic,  lightweight, absorbs easily.

Babassu oil is packed with vitamin E, antioxidants and fatty acids with a high concentration of lauric acid which offers anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. In addition to lauric acid, it is also composed of other fatty acids including myristic, oleic, stearic and palmitic acids. Due to the healing properties, Babassu is used for medicinal purposes. According to NCBI, the mesocarp derived from the Babassu tree is used among communities of Babassu nut breakers for the treatment of different diseases such as rheumatism, ulcers, inflammatory conditions and for treating wounds. It can fight acne with its natural anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, bring relief to dry & itchy skin irritations such as eczema and psoriasis, reduce inflammation and redness from bug bitesm mild burns, rashes and offer cooling after-sun soothing.

Kukui nut oil

The Kukui nut tree, scientifically known as Aleurites moluccanus, produces large nuts which release the Kukui nut oil when pressed. Kukui can boost collagen production and promote the sloughing of dead skin cells .

It can also help protect your skin against further damage. Known for its ability to soothe irritated skin, it works for all skin types and provides gentle moisture and protection, as well as alleviate temporary redness in sensitive or dry skin.
