MAYUMI GOODS

Mayumi candles utilize a vegan blend of all natural plant waxes including virgin coconut and soy wax which is gluten free, toxin free, paraben free, phthalate free and come from renewable sources. Unless specifically noted, many other candles use toxic wax, and fragrances and fillers with phthalates, parabens and other toxic ingredients. You breathe in anything you burn from your candles so it's important to only burn natural candle waxes and fragrances.

MAYUMI GOODS was created by Mayumi Katarina Matutina, aka Kat Matutina after launching MAYUMI SKIN.

Kat found that many skincare products on the market are composed of mostly cheap filler ingredients as well as toxic ingredients. Having a huge love for candles, she found the same issue in a lot of candles containing toxic waxes and fragrances. After trying candles with wooden wicks for the first time, she decided to create her own candles with wooden wicks as well. After months of testing different plant waxes and wick types, she finally found the right combination to create a non-toxic, clean-burning candle with natural aromas and a nice crackling fire sound. Wooden wicks achieve a fast melt pool formation for quick and excellent hot fragrance throw (the release of scent from a candle ). Wooden wicks produce an alluring crackling sound when burning reminiscent of a campfire. They have no mushrooming with little carbon buildup, debris or sooting.

Our wicks are sourced and manufactured in the USA from fsc-certified mills and are completely non-toxic with no additives. Like her skincare line, each candle is hand-poured and made in small-batches in Los Angeles.  All candles are in recyclable or reusable glass vessels with crackling wooden wicks.  MAYUMI GOODS encompasses all things MAYUMI, including organic skincare, non-toxic candles, and home goods.

 
MAYUMI SKIN 

Mayumi skincare uses all natural botanicals with 100% functional ingredients, no fillers, no binders, and all plant-based vegan and organic ingredients that help balance, clarify, hydrate, brighten, tighten, and soothe your skin. Clean and simple, for a dewy glow.

After almost two decades of searching for the cleanest and most potent face oil to use as a moisturizer, Mayumi Skin was born in Kat's Los Angeles home office. Since face oils penetrate deeper into the dermal layers of the skin than moisturizers, which are also diluted with fillers and emulsifiers, she sought out the best face oils.  She found that many face oils on the market are composed of mostly cheap filler oil with high comedogenic ratings, and with only a small fraction of the formulas being functional, efficacious ingredients for the skin. She was combining many different single oils and essential oils and started making her own blends for herself, and eventually custom blends for others for every skin type.

When looking for hand sanitizers, she found many smelled like tequila or had a sticky texture. She started making her own sanitizers and adding essential oils and then made them for others who were also seeking a better option for sanitizing their hands. The sanitizers are in a spray form so that they can also be used to disinfect objects and masks.

Each bottle is made to order with a concentrated blend of functional, bio-active, age-defying antioxidant-rich oils and organic essential oils. Even the aromas are a natural part of the functional essential oils used in each blend. All products are in an amber glass bottle to protect the precious oils, as well as the environment.

cruelty-free. We do not & will not participate in harming animals. All of our MAYUMI products are cruelty-free, always. 


vegan. Vegan products contain no animal products or animal-derived ingredients. Nada. None. Zero. We don't deserve animals.


toxin-free. Various categories of toxins can pose adverse health effects from exposure. We're proud to say that our products do not contain reproductive, acute or organ toxins. 


phthalate-free. Phthalates are lil scent carriers that help scents linger longer. Some types of phthalates have affected the reproductive system of laboratory animals. MAYUMI skincare and candles contain NO phthalates.


mutagen-free. Chemicals or physical agents that can change our genetic makeup in a harmful way? Nope. Exposure to mutagens can produce DNA mutations that contribute to disease, that's why none of our products contain them.


carcinogen-free. Ingredients on the California Prop 65 list are are known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm - no thanks. None of our products require Prop 65 labeling.


paraben-free. Parabens are a family of related (icky) chemicals that are commonly used as preservatives in cosmetic products. See ya never! Our MAYUMI products are always specially formulated without parabens.
